Spring is finally here! The Ventnor Branch of the Atlantic County Library System and the Ventnor Cultural Arts Center have joined forces to celebrate the beauty of spring by welcoming butterflies to the beach. Check to see the progress of our caterpillars, and ask about our butterfly release, too -- the time and date will be announced once the butterflies emerge.
Open to adults. Registration from June 17-August 12. Join us for our summer reading program for adults. At the library, log any library book you read or listen to (e-books and audio books count) and be entered into our weekly prize drawing.
Suggested for ages 3-18. Registration from June 17 to August 12. Register in-person at the library branch and get your reading log. Read for fun prizes in our brand new program! Saturday, August 12 is the last day to turn in reading logs for prizes.
Open to older teens and adults. Registration and $5 fee required for each session. Class size limited to 25. Presented by Janet Hahn. No food 3 hours before class. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel. Sponsored by the Atlantic County Library Foundation.
Suggested for ages 6-60. Exercise your mind! Join chess expert Ken Esada & play a friendly game or two. Rooks, knights & chessmen, oh my! New to chess? No problem! The games double as lessons. Visit us weekly ... or at least challenge your opponent to a rematch!

Open to children ages 9-12. Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Let all young knights and ladies of the city of Pleasantville and other territories of the realm of Atlantic County know that on this day there will be a noble tournament with bean bag toss, rubber band archery, and pool noodle combat. All knights and ladies who wish to gain honor are invited to come to the library earlier in the week for the "Make Your Own Shield" event to make and decorate a shield to display at the tourney. Part of "Medieval Month."
