Open to adults & teens. Join us at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center (located at 5045 English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, NJ) for a screening of Survival in Shanghai. This documentary explores Shanghai's role in sheltering Jewish refugees during World War II. One of two visa-free regions at the time, Shanghai received an estimated 25,000 Jews fleeing Nazi persecution between 1937-1939. The film will be introduced by Betty Grebenschikoff, author of Once My Name Was Sara & a resident of Shanghai's Jewish ghetto during World War II. Part of ACLS Reads.
